Wind Renewable Energy

Wind power is one of the fastest-growing renewable energy technologies in the world. With an increase of 75 percent in globally installed wind-generation capacity, METCO remains ahead of the curve in providing stellar services and equipment in the department.

What is Wind Renewable Energy?

The Wind Renewable Energy (WRE) is a clean, free and readily available energy source. This inexhaustible technology capitalizes on wind for electricity or mechanical power.

Each day, around the globe, wind turbines capture the wind’s power and convert it into electricity.

The demand for WRE has increased drastically over the past two decades. The wind-generation capacity has seen a jump from 7.5 gigawatts (GW) in 1997 to some 564 GW by 2018 and will continue to grow, according to IRENA’s latest data.

To keep up with changes in industry dynamics and meet the increased demands, METCO aims to integrate solutions to help customers transform wind into profitable assets for a sustainable future.

How is Wind Renewable
Energy Generated?

The most common way to convert wind power into kinetic energy is by using large wind turbines. The purpose is to generate either electricity or mechanical power.

The turbines usually consist of propellers; the turbines can be connected to a generator or the wind used as mechanical power to perform tasks such as pumping water or grinding grains.

There are two types of turbines:

  • Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT): This type of wind turbines are widely used despite requiring a mechanism for orienting the blades. The HAWTs are based on the ancestral wind and are aerodynamically shaped like airplane wings. Compared to VAWT, these tribunes are less costly and less exposed to mechanical stress.
  • Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT): The vertical tribunes are not as widely used as HAWT as they have a specific use case. They are primarily used in small business projects and residential applications. The VAWTs are also extremely useful for places where the wind is not consistent.

METCO covers all basis to meet your requirements when it comes to leading the way forward in the renewable energy sector.

We engage in all three areas of the wind power business: Onshore, Offshore and Service.

Benefits of Wind Renewable Energy

Native Energy

The wind is available everywhere on the planet, which contributes to reducing energy imports and to create wealth.

Clean Fuel Source

WRE is achieved without emitting toxic substances or contaminants into the air. Unlike power plants which rely on combustion of fossil fuels, WRE does not pollute the air.

Cost Effective

Predicting threats and opportunities in the highly volatile energy market allows you to manage operational cost as well as market position efficiently.

Benefits the Economy

To generate wind renewable energy, wind turbines can be built on farms or ranches. This also helps to benefit the economy in rural areas, where the majority of the steady winds can be found. Farmers can continue to work on their lands as the turbines only take up a fraction of their land.
